We Didn't Shut Down. Introducing Riverborn

A few weeks ago, we announced that Connekt Studio was closing its doors.

The response surprised us. Old clients wrote in. Past collaborators wrote in. Engineers we had hired years ago wrote in. People we had not heard from in a long time wrote in with the same quiet question. What really happened?

The honest answer is simpler than the rumors suggest. We did not shut down because we failed. We shut down because we outgrew the name.

This post is the full story, written for everyone who reached out and everyone who wondered.

Five years of building taught us one thing

Connekt Studio started in 2021 as a product studio in Bangladesh, and we built across the full surface of software.

Over five years we shipped dozens of products across dozens of domains. Marketplaces, dashboards, mobile apps, internal tools, ecommerce platforms, content systems, and almost everything in between. We learned how operations actually work inside real companies. We learned how to scope work that other agencies quietly avoid. We learned how to ship under pressure on deadlines that genuinely mattered.

Somewhere inside all of that breadth, one truth slowly became impossible to ignore. Our strongest work, the work we were proudest of, was not generic software at all. It was building production-grade AI systems. The hard stuff that companies actually run their business on every single day.

Voice agents that handle live customer calls at real scale. Agentic systems that take actions, not just answers. RAG pipelines that surface the right information at the right moment. Telephony infrastructure that hooks AI into real phone conversations. Workflow automation that removes weeks of human effort from a single quarter.

That work was no longer a side project for us. It had quietly become the core of who we were.

A studio could not hold what we had become

A general software studio carries a certain shape, and that shape no longer matched the work.

A studio is meant to be broad and exploratory by design. Many domains, many product types, many client kinds across a wide surface. Connekt Studio fit that shape well for the first three years of its life. But the deeper we went into AI infrastructure, the more we needed a sharper identity to match the focus we had earned.

We had become an AI systems company hiding inside a general studio brand. That quiet mismatch was costing us the right clients and the right conversations.

So we decided to do the harder thing. We retired the Connekt Studio name with respect, and we started a new chapter under a name that finally matched the work. One mission instead of ten. Same team, sharper focus.

Why we are called Riverborn

Bangladesh holds more than 700 rivers within its borders, and they have shaped this country for centuries.

They carved the delta, moved trade, and connected cultures across difficult terrain. Before there were roads in this part of the world, there were rivers. Before Riverborn, there were rivers.

The metaphor carries real weight for the work we do now. Rivers are infrastructure that moves things at scale through complex environments, reliably, year after year. That is exactly what production AI systems are supposed to do for the companies they serve. They move data, decisions, automation, and intelligence through the messy reality of a real business. They flow without breaking, and they keep flowing.

Our name is a quiet commitment to that idea. We build infrastructure that moves things.

We have done this before, in another century

Bangladesh has produced world-class engineering before, and history remembers it well.

Centuries ago this region wove Muslin, a fabric so fine and so precise that the rest of the world could not replicate it for generations. It was the gold standard of textile engineering in its time. It came out of this land, from these hands, with no apology and no permission asked for.

We are carrying that same spirit into AI. The world tends to measure engineering excellence by geography rather than by output. We disagree with that framing, and we are willing to disagree publicly. Riverborn exists to prove the disagreement on every project we ship.

What Riverborn actually is

Our products carry an average user rating above 4.8 across major platforms. We operate at roughly 40 to 60 percent of the cost of comparable US and EU agencies, without compromising on quality or delivery velocity.

Every product on that list is a live system with real users, real infrastructure, and real uptime requirements. When we tell a client we know what production actually looks like, these ten systems are exactly what we mean.

What has changed and what has not

The name is new. The team is not.

Every engineer, designer, and operator who built Connekt Studio continues to build Riverborn. The skills compounded across five years did not reset on the day we changed the logo. They followed us into the new chapter, sharper for the focus we have chosen.

What is new is the shape of the company around them. One mission instead of ten. A clearer position in the global market. A new office in Mirpur DOHS in Dhaka, where the team is actively expanding through the rest of 2026. Hiring focused on AI engineers, infrastructure builders, and the kind of senior talent the global market has overlooked for too long.

The work itself is sharper now. More intentional in scope. Slower to commit and faster to ship once committed.
